Corinella schools

Welcome to Mrs Beverley Cartwright our new school Principal for 2009! This year we started off with another honor and delightful
surprise by our P&C Association being awarded the (Rotary Club of Forbes) "Forbes Shire Ambassador of the Year for 2008",
for... "their dedication, enthusiasm and support of their community during 2008". This is a great achievement and great way to
start 2009! Congratulations to our new school captains. Pip Shephard, Claudia Johnston & James French.

As part of the leadership process the school has been divided into three teams – with each of the captains allocated as a team
leader. James is the leader of Red Rockers, Claudia is the leader of Disco Dudes & Pip is the leader of Funky Monkeys.

To date the children have competed in the Forbes Small schools Swimming Carnival with great success enabling eight children to
participate at the Lachlan district carnival at Condobolin. Our P6 relay team now head to Dubbo for the regional swimming. If
successful they will swim at Homebush in the state championships. Maybe history can repeat itself after the success of the 2008
relay gaining 3rd place at state level. James French and Sam Ridley are also in the senior boys relay representing Lachlan group
at Western Region.

Cooking has been on the agenda with children entering into "The Land" CWA Bedgerabong cooking competition with great
results. The Red Rockers are now organising a fun day for the school & community, so it's off to a busy first term. Second Term
will see some creative skills being sharpened along with speech & drama classes.
