Corinella School and grounds in 1961

Corinella School started as a subsidised school in 1959. Members of the local community purchased the old Warroo school building and transported it to the current site, approximately 60km south-west of Forbes N.S.W.
In 1959 the first teacher, Miss Joan Rawsthorne was employed at the subsidised school, and in 1960 Miss Hammond held that position.
In 1961 it was established as a state school and has always been either a 1 or 2 teacher school drawing children from up to a 30km radius. In that time student enrolments have ranged from 6 to 40 children in grades K-6.
Mr Graham Fowler was appointed to be the first public school teacher in 1961 and spent 9 years in that position.
